I apologize on how non medical drama it is, I got carried away with my thoughts on it before I actually realized what medical drama was. I find myself carrying out the "drama" and the "medical" part. sort of. but not quite. I hope you get a better fill, but I really wanted to finish this!

Tavros is bleeding, Equius can barely even see before his nose, but he knows it. He knows that Tavros is not okay, that something's so deeply wrong, but the fog isn't clearing - won't clear. He's scoping his way to the brown blooded troll. His legs are trapped under a heavy piece of ceiling and it's easy for Equius to lift off of Tavros, even with the heat overheating the brass bindings on his hands. But the legs of the brownblood are obviously too in pieces to work anymore. He winces when he tries to get Tavros out, as gently as possible. So not to hurt him more.
His feelings... They are so inappropriate, but nothing he regrets. They're not friendly feelings, but Nepeta doesn't mind. She also doesn't mind him patching up the things that get sent to his workshop. All that matters to him nowadays is her approval.
And he has no doubt that he's got her approval when he drags Tavros out of the fire, and carries him to Kanaya's medical facility. He nods if she asks if it would be okay to cut off Tavros's legs. He can build new ones. He will build new ones.
The look of pain in Tavros's eyes is painful, once he wakes up, but Equius spends his next three days coming up with blueprints for Tavros' legs, with all the needed functions and additions and making some simpler legs for him until he finishes the more detailed ones.
Tavros has been healthy, awake and bedbound for almost two days for the time Equius gets back to the hospital with the temporary replacement legs. He did his best on them, as quick as he could, but the ones he had all the blueprints for... Oh, they'd be glorious!
He finds himself embracing the brown-blooded troll once he gets to his bedside, apologizing into his shoulder, mumbling quietly, being as gentle as he can. Tavros isn't mad. Tavros is alive, he got Tavros out alive.
He keeps that mantra going on his head while he's working on his replacement legs, while he knows that either Karkat or his fellow engineer Dave, is helping Tavros re-learn how to walk.
He works tirelessly, for days on end, and by the time he's finished, he crashes for a full day. But it's worth it. It's worth the headache he has and the worry Nepeta directs at him, since the smile Tavros gives him is more radiant than the sun. It's so much more wonderful and bright and it's all for him.
