Anyway, I'm in the same boat as you... actually, I've been putting off finishing a Shimeji [desktop buddy thing] for someone for a while, but I couldn't resist. I also haven't been a fan for that long. To be 100% honest, I only started reading the comic on 4/13 this year, and I'm almost completely up to date on the story. The hype I witnessed on a "discovering Homestuck" blog was too much and I had to actually start it. I was immediately enthralled by its well-tailored story in a spastically intriguing multimedia digital format. This one is sticking to me hard, but it's still embarrassing to be so new. :D
Yeah, the physical limits of Karkat <3< Karkat would definitely help keep the word limit, now that you mention it. Maybe I should write a mock memo at some point. I think that has potential, since it's said that there were a lot of them we didn't get to see!
