BONUS ROUND 2
Bonus Round 2
The Return of Round Robin Fanadventures
Comments have been screened; we will be tallying the points over the next 48 hours or so, after which we will unscreen the comments. Comments have been unscreened! You may continue the fanadventures on this post as long as you like, though we will not be awarding further points.
Hi shippers! Welcome to Bonus Round 2.
Round Robin Fanadventures generated so much awesome stuff last year that we decided to bring it back!
For those who are new to HSO, this is not actually that complicated a concept, but it might be a little tricky to explain, so bear with me. The point of this round is to create a bunch of fanadventures that are for a team other than your own.
Rules
- If you are starting a new adventure: start a new thread using the title format defined below. Include either text or 1-2 pieces of embedded art setting a scene (or both!), and finish with a command (==> does not count as a command for new threads). Then sit back and wait for someone else to contribute!
- If you are continuing an adventure: find a thread that does not center around your team's ship. Then comment using the title format defined below. Include either text or 1-2 pieces of embedded art continuing the scene (or both!), and finish with a command (this can include ==>, though generally we would prefer otherwise). Then sit back and wait for someone else to contribute!
- For ease of reading, we suggest using standardized image sizes. 600x400 landscape is a pretty good size! But as long as it's the same as the other images in the thread, people will have an easier time following along. The HTML for inserting images is <img src="http://yourimageurlhere.com">
- For this challenge, there is no minimum wordcount. We are trusting you not to abuse that fact!
- You may not comment twice in a row in one adventure. The point is to hand off the scene like a hot potato.
- You may not introduce or create for your team's ship into a fanadventure. If someone else introduces your team's ship to a thread, you can still contribute to that thread so long as your contributions do not involve your ship.
- This challenge will run until 11:59PM EDT July 7. After that time, even if it's just by a minute according to the LJ timestamp, no submissions will be accepted for points.
NOTES:
- Audio posts are fine, so long as you include a transcript.
- Please make sure to check that your titles are correct!
- You may answer commands that have already been answered. Think of it like a 'choose your own adventure' game!
Title Format
If you are starting a new thread, use this format in your title.
Replace [THEIR SHIP] with the ship you want this particular fanadventure thread to be. Remember that you cannot create a fanadventure based on your own ship. Whatever ship you choose must be represented by a HSO team not your own. The only exception is gen adventures, which are permitted.
Replace [YOUR SHIP] with the name of the team YOU belong to; please use the characters and quadrant, not whatever portmanteau or nickname you've come up with. If your team name is not in this format and in the title it may not be counted.
If you are continuing a thread, use this format in your title.
Replace [COMMAND] with whatever command the previous fill has specified.
Replace [YOUR SHIP] with the name of the team YOU belong to; please use the characters and quadrant, not whatever portmanteau or nickname you've come up with.
If your title is not in this format it may not be counted.
Posts not using this format in the title will be understood to be unofficial discussion posts, no matter what they contain. They, like all comments on the comm, are subject to the Wank Policy.
Scoring
(as stated here)
First 5 entries per team: 30 (per entry)
Entries 6-10: 20 (per entry)
Entries 11-15: 10 (per entry)
Entries 16+: 5 (per entry)
All fanadventure content must be created new for this round.
We would prefer that any questions about this challenge or anything else in the HSO be emailed to us at homestuck.shipping AT gmail!
New [Jane<3Gamzee] Game (FILL: TEAM [John<3Karkat])
Your name is Jane Crocker. You have returned to your apartment after a long day of interning at the PI office downtown. To your horror you have discovered that a number of stiffs are sticking out of your hall closet. A murder is afoot!
You wonder who could be responsible for such a deed. A criminal mastermind who needed his opposition out of the picture? Perhaps a serial killer out for blood? Or maybe, just maybe, it's...
Nah it's probably just your psycho alien boyfriend.
> Jane: Examine stiffs.
Jane: Examine stiffs. (FILL: TEAM John<3Karkat)
You lean in closer to get a better look. Not TOO CLOSE, though, since this a crime scene, and also your apartment. Not that your apartment has never been a crime scene before, thanks to previously mentioned KILLER ALIEN BOYFRIEND.
Upon closer examination one of the corpses appears to be a bus driver. Another is a kid from two floors up who plays DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION until THREE IN THE MORNING every weekend. As a private investigator, you know it is your job to find facts and stay impartial to the case, but you can't say you're all that sorry this guy has kicked the bucket. Metaphorically speaking.
In any case, the cops will arrive soon. Gamzee is never all that discreet with his body disposals. Someone must've seen him dragging five corpses up your apartment's stairwell. You'd better go find him and get out of here.
> Jane: Look for Gamzee.
> Jane: Look for Gamzee. (FILL: Team Karkat<3Karkat)
You decide it's probably best to start with the basics like any good detective. You'll go to his usual places first.
> Jane: Check the kitchen.
> Jane: Check the kitchen. (FILL: Team Aradia<3Feferi)
You wonder for a second whether this is a good idea or not, but then again, this is a bit of a mistery, and even though your boyfriend has just killed a bunch of people and is now nowhere to be found, a mistery is still a mistery.
You enter the kitchen, but there is no trace of him whatsoever.
Instead, there is a note on the fridge.
''Meet me in the park''? He has even put one of his emotes down there.
It would be kinda cute, if it wasn't for the blood stains covering the paper.
>Jane: Reach your Alien Boyfriend.
>Jane: Reach your Alien Boyfriend (FILL: TEAM ERIDAN<3ROXY)
You ponder the thought of REACHING your alien boyfriend. It would be really cool to be able to do that, and would probably make you both very happy, he would think it was pretty cool to. But alas, you can not REACH him, you could try calling him to, but it would probably just attract a bunch of unwanted attention, what with you yelling GAMZEE everywhere. You decide to talk to the park, while doing so you could try contacting him using your cellular device. That seems like a good idea!
Jane: Contact Gamzee
no subject
>Jane: Contact Gamzee (FILL: TEAM Jade<3Karkat)
What a stupid idea!
You completeley forgot your KILLER ALIEN BOYFRIEND doesn't carry any cellular device when he's out and, of course, you need to contact him. You stop to wonder why the actual fuck you put up with his bullshit, but disregard the thought as soon as you realize he might have taken his laptop with him. In case he wanted to troll his friends with frightening messages, obviously.
>Jane: Look for laptop
>Jane: Look for laptop (FILL: TEAM SLICK<3<SNOWMAN)
Well. Not usually.
Jane: Look for laptop, and actually have to look for it this time.
You scour your entire apartment. Being the detective that you are, normally you're quite good at finding things (Roxy has called you "teh bestest damn hufflepuff taht hogwarst has ever taken a gander at"), but your laptop has completely disappeared.
Jane: What happened to it?
You can guess exactly what happened to it.
Gamzee lost track of his and so took yours to the park, in case he wanted to troll his friends with frightening messages.
Jane: Hear police sirens
Jane: Hear police sirens (FILL: TEAM BRO<3GRANDPA)
Yep, that’s the police. You’re pretty sure they’ve memorized the route to your apartment by now. Actually, you once heard a rumor that all new officers had to know your address if they wanted to make it on the force.
But anyway, you’re not in the mood to deal with Officer Cormac right now. That guy really gets on your nerves. And you don’t have time to stand around, looking for electronics while staring at all the blood you’ll have to clean up later. You need to get out of here.
>Jane: Escape through the back window.
