Mobius Double Reacharound FST - Revisited

Hi shippers! Welcome to Bonus Round 4! Bringing back a favourite from last year! (Sorry for the delay, we're very busy!)

Here’s how this is going to work: somebody will submit a selection of 3-6 songs without comment. Then somebody else will come along and create a companion fanwork to fit the soundtrack!

Rules

If you are submitting a soundtrack: submit only the track listing and download or youtube links. The idea is that people should ~interpret~ your selections!

You are not allowed to fill soundtrack prompts with your team's ship, nor are you allowed to fill your own soundtracks. (Filling your team's soundtracks is okay!)

Soundtracks count for 5 points each, for a maximum of 100 points per team.

Fills may be in whatever format you choose (except FST, of course) so long as they link the songs by mood and/or lyrics in some kind of narrative.

Being all cooped up together on the meteor for two years and counting means more than just having to share food and restrooms and lab space. You find that you know the others' little idiosyncrasies as well as you know your own. You can tell who's approaching by the distinct sound of their footsteps. You can recognize the way Kanaya holds herself a bit tighter and walks a bit lighter when she's getting hungry. You know that the big sucking breath Karkat takes before shouting sounds different if he's genuinely angry or just trying to get someone else riled up to bicker with. You've come to find that sometimes Terezi has to go off on her own and spend a few hours in the dark silence of her section of the labs, and she'll come back a little quieter and want to talk about Vriska for a while.

And you know that Rose can go months at a time sleeping only in one- or two-hour increments.

That particular realization took you quite a bit of time. You never even tried to maintain a regular sleep cycle like some of the others--it's easier to just sleep when you're well and truly exhausted, and spend the next twelve hours conked out in some odd place like the edge of Can Town or at a table in the shared eating area. When Rose disappeared for hours each day cycle to the storage room she'd claimed as her bedroom, you figured she was sleeping that whole time. If she didn't have one of these absences while you were awake, you assumed she'd slept while you did. But then, you started noticing the dark circles under her eyes rivaled Karkat's, and that she rarely said specifically that she'd slept, only "rested".

Shortly after your fourteenth birthdays, you finally manage to get the truth out of her. You feel you should have guessed that the horrorterrors had been less than pleased she'd escaped their clutches, but you had assumed she spent her sleeping time in the dreambubbles like you, with the whispers of the Gods of the Furthest Ring an annoying but ignorable constant. Not so, she explains--they can pull her out at will, and even if they don't, their screams are more than she can tolerate for extended periods of time. You're a little stung that this is the first you're hearing of this particular issue. You're in this thing together, through thick and thin.

There's no use in complaining, though she says, holding your gaze as though she can see right through your mirrored shades. She probably can. For the time being, there's nothing to be done about it.

For a moment, you're not sure where you're going with this. Your entire Rose Lalonde experience can be summed up as "not sure where you're going with this", though, so it's not unfamiliar territory. would it help if you didnt sleep alone

She drops her gaze and you wonder how it took you this long to notice how tired she is. God tier perma health only goes so far. Her cheeks look hollowed out more than can be explained away by growth spurts, her hair looks wispier than it used to, and her skin has a papery look to it. Overall, her appearance could be described as "brittle", and "brittle" is not a word you would ever expect to apply to Rose Lalonde. you look like shit. seriously why dont you at least try crashing at my place? its nothing fancy but ive got a metric fuckton of swords and i bet we could take creepy hentai monsters on with swords if we had to

I wouldn't presume to doubt you. Well. I suppose it couldn't hurt. Should I fetch my blankets, or do you have bedclothing that consists of actual fabric in addition to all of your phallic objects?

And that's how you find yourself curled up half-asleep with a sound asleep Rose Lalonde, watching over her while she finally gets some rest. You haven't felt her stir more than a bit in the last four hours, and she hasn't made a single distressed noise. If she does wake up from something terrible, though, you'll be here. It would take something truly impressive to drag it out of you, but you can admit to yourself that she's basically the most amazing person you know. If you had to be stuck on a meteor with a bunch of aliens for three years, you're glad it was with her, and you'll spend as many hours guarding her as she sleeps as she needs.
