BONUS ROUND 4
Bonus Round 4
Mobius Double Reacharound FST - Revisited
Hi shippers! Welcome to Bonus Round 4! Bringing back a favourite from last year! (Sorry for the delay, we're very busy!)
Here’s how this is going to work: somebody will submit a selection of 3-6 songs without comment. Then somebody else will come along and create a companion fanwork to fit the soundtrack!
Rules
- If you are submitting a soundtrack: submit only the track listing and download or youtube links. The idea is that people should ~interpret~ your selections!
- You are not allowed to fill soundtrack prompts with your team's ship, nor are you allowed to fill your own soundtracks. (Filling your team's soundtracks is okay!)
- Soundtracks count for 5 points each, for a maximum of 100 points per team.
- Fills may be in whatever format you choose (except FST, of course) so long as they link the songs by mood and/or lyrics in some kind of narrative.
- Post your fill as a comment to the prompt post, using the title format described below.
- This challenge will run until 11:59PM EST August 3rd.
Title Format
If you are starting a new thread, please use this format in your title.
Replace [YOUR SHIP] with the name of the team YOU belong to; please use the characters and quadrant, not whatever portmanteau or nickname you've come up with.
If your team name is not in this format and in the title we cannot guarantee that it will be counted.
If you are filling a prompt, use this format in your title.
Replace [YOUR SHIP] with the name of the team YOU belong to; please use the characters and quadrant, not whatever portmanteau or nickname you've come up with.
If your team name is not in this format and in the title we cannot guarantee that it will be counted.
Posts not using this format in the title will be understood to be unofficial discussion posts, no matter what they contain. They, like all comments on the comm, are subject to the Wank Policy.
Scoring
For prompt posts: 5 points each (maximum of 100 per team)
For Fills (as stated here)
First 5 entries per team: 30 (per entry)
Entries 6-10: 20 (per entry)
Entries 11-15: 10 (per entry)
Entries 16+: 5 (per entry)
All scored content must be created/assembled new for this round.
We would prefer that any questions about this challenge or anything else in the HSO be emailed to us at homestuck.shipping AT gmail!

FILL: TEAM DIRK<>ROXY
She was 15 when she stared you down until you felt the beads of sweat trickle down the back of your neck, considering bolting into the street and hiding yourself – where, you would have figured out later – and never speaking to her again.
The two of you were 15, when she laughed and gingerly took the roses, commenting on how cliché you were.
haha, rose, you have no idea.
you say.my thought process was basically a rose for a rose.
I think I can make that work, John.
she says, all smiles with the roses in her arms, and you make a mental note to remember that image for the rest of your life. It was the most beautiful thing you’ve seen. You were 15 when you took her on the first date, a quaint bookstore.
Bookstores are meant for literature
, she insists. The newest Marvel issue is not literature.
tell that to iron man.
you counter, and the both of you laugh simultaneously. Her smiles were infectious, and you knew this wasn’t just a teenage fling. She was 15 ½ when you had your first kiss, a summer evening with the fireflies blinking in and out in your peripheral vision.
Her face was tinged a light pink, and you were at her doorstep again after a long night. You held her hand up the porch steps, and she turned around.
Thank you for the evening, John. It was quite the experience
, she says with a laugh. You really want to kiss her.So you do, and her lips are softer than anything else you’ve ever felt. It’s short, chaste, and she turns a lovely shade of pink. You laugh and turn around again, waving.
bye rose!
You were 17 when the two of you were sprawled out on your living room floor.
rose, fuck college.
you groan, flopping over on your back. You were the one who asked me to tutor you.
she points out with a sly smile. You really love the way she’s lightened up now, illuminating your world with bright smiles and facetious remarks. You throw a college application pamphlet at her and laugh.
She was 22 when you watched her mount the stage for her diploma, having traveled states to see her again.
oh man, rose. that is one fancy looking diploma you have there.
you laugh, having received your own a few days ago.I try.
She smiles humbly and you hug her. She’s drowning in fabric and her hat is perched lopsidedly on her head, so you tilt it back in place and lean in for a kiss. You were 27 when the two of you moved back to your hometown, and you left a post-it at her door.
rose! meet me at the movie theater, ok? i might be late, so just buy a ticket for whatever you choose and text me!
She was 27 when she heads to the movie theater, waiting for a good 20 minutes for nobody. She sighs, and waits in line. The clerk brightens up when he sees her, passes her a slip of paper, and says, “He’s at the diner!” She furrows her eyebrows in confusion and just goes along, thinking this is an elaborate prank.
She looks down at the old ticker for Ghost Rider 3 in her hands. It was the first movie she saw with you.
You were 27 when she reaches the diner, looking in to find nobody. She frowns, and the cashier waves her over. “Hello, Rose! He’s at the park, so here.”
She frowns a bit, takes the paper, and leaves with a polite “
Thank you.
” She looks down at the receipt for two coffees, a salad, and a burger. She smiles, remembering you spilling your drink everywhere and running around town with her in a brown-stained shirt. She was 27 when she heads to the park, knowing she’d find nobody there. She gingerly sits down on a bench, idly waiting until a middle-aged jogger shows up.
“The library.” He says, and passes her a daffodil.
Her memory flashes back to a day in the mud, with you threading wildflowers through her hair.
You were 27 when she walked into the library, looking around. Nobody speaks to her, so she walks into the back and pulls her favorite book out, catching on.
You aren’t there, but you’re sweating bullets.
hehe, rose, thanks for dealing with all this! you’re almost done now. head to the bookstore, alright? i promise i’m actually there.
She was 27 when she finds you at the table you sat in on your first date, clutching her various trinkets. You’re in a blue plaid dress shirt and dark grey jeans, and her in a stunning white cardigan.
You swallow and put down the same comic book you were reading a dozen years ago.
hi rose.
you nervously say.Hello, John. Is there a reason you’ve sent me on a goose chase around the city?
She asks, a knowing smile on her lips.yeah.
you say, and everyone in the store is staring at you. You nervously get up and drop down on one knee, taking her hand and pulling out a small box.You were 27 when you poured out your feelings to her.
...it’d be great to grow old together.
rose lalonde, will you marry me?
She was 27 when the bookstore held its breath, and a wide grin spreads across her face.
Well, when you put it like that, how could I say no?
she smirks, and you put the ring on her finger.I’ve had the time of my life being with you, John. Yes, I’ll marry you.
This way I have the rest of my life to get you into the world of real literature.
The bookstore erupts into cheers and “awwww”s.
You tenderly kiss her.
