BONUS ROUND 4

Bonus Round 4

Mobius Double Reacharound FST - Revisited

Hi shippers! Welcome to Bonus Round 4! Bringing back a favourite from last year! (Sorry for the delay, we're very busy!)

Here’s how this is going to work: somebody will submit a selection of 3-6 songs without comment. Then somebody else will come along and create a companion fanwork to fit the soundtrack!

Rules
  1. If you are submitting a soundtrack: submit only the track listing and download or youtube links. The idea is that people should ~interpret~ your selections!

  2. You are not allowed to fill soundtrack prompts with your team's ship, nor are you allowed to fill your own soundtracks. (Filling your team's soundtracks is okay!)

  3. Soundtracks count for 5 points each, for a maximum of 100 points per team.

  4. Fills may be in whatever format you choose (except FST, of course) so long as they link the songs by mood and/or lyrics in some kind of narrative.

  5. Post your fill as a comment to the prompt post, using the title format described below.

  6. This challenge will run until 11:59PM EST August 3rd.

Title Format

If you are starting a new thread, please use this format in your title.

Replace [YOUR SHIP] with the name of the team YOU belong to; please use the characters and quadrant, not whatever portmanteau or nickname you've come up with.
If your team name is not in this format and in the title we cannot guarantee that it will be counted.

If you are filling a prompt, use this format in your title.

Replace [YOUR SHIP] with the name of the team YOU belong to; please use the characters and quadrant, not whatever portmanteau or nickname you've come up with.
If your team name is not in this format and in the title we cannot guarantee that it will be counted.

Posts not using this format in the title will be understood to be unofficial discussion posts, no matter what they contain. They, like all comments on the comm, are subject to the Wank Policy.

Scoring
For prompt posts: 5 points each (maximum of 100 per team)

For Fills (as stated here)
First 5 entries per team: 30 (per entry)
Entries 6-10: 20 (per entry)
Entries 11-15: 10 (per entry)
Entries 16+: 5 (per entry)

All scored content must be created/assembled new for this round.

We would prefer that any questions about this challenge or anything else in the HSO be emailed to us at homestuck.shipping AT gmail!

It’s bigger and smaller now that the game’s done. It’s vast because you know. But then again, how are you content with one universe when you’ve seen two?

The stars are ice and sometimes you’re cold when you watch them. So you rub your arms, scratch the matted hair out from your eyes, anything to move move move. When you look back, that’s when you see her.

A woman. No, her. Hair long, wide glasses, dancing with sharp edges. A pattern in the stars. You want to call out her name but you know how many creative obscenities you’d spill if you saw anyone else doing that, so you sit on your elbows and whisper Lucy.

That’s not it. But you can’t bear to say her true name just yet. Rub your eyes, Karkat, rub rub, and then you see her glimmering with kaleidoscope eyes and you know you’ll eventually have to start referring to her truthfully.

You come back every week. Falling more and more in love, you like to believe, but in reality your love for her is constant. And it is love. Love, love, love, not pity. If there’s anything you’ve learned from the game, it’s that love does exist.

And it hurts. It hurt when she arrived on the ship and the feelings she once had were no more. It hurt when she locked her arm with his and looked at him and understood and wanted to understand. She didn’t look into you anymore.

You didn’t give up at first. You fought alongside her, pretended everything was okay, tried to rekindle something that was. But when the battle was won and you saw her and him embracing, you blinked and forgot and forgave. Maybe it was all in your head anyway.

Two weeks pass and you’re still looking at the stars. Still looking at her. Your love is constant, but you’ve almost moved on almost there, and you let the grass caress you as the name lingers on your tongue and you try to stop hating yourself long enough to speak.

Then you look up and whisper Jade.
