Hi shippers!
We've been working hard on HSO stuff throughout this past weekend, and we have some important announcements to make. There's a LOT of info under these cuts, so please read carefully!

Icon Notes

Be advised that certain icons used by palhonchos who posted to the R1 comm may have flashing animations or potentially triggering images! The comm style is set to hide all icons and if you haven't changed anything about your settings you should be fine, but if you set your Journal View to the default skin and have concerns about being affected by icons, you may want to view entries inline rather than clicking through.

Sectors and Assignments

First: since there are so many of you, we've decided to use a bracket system for voting. In the first phase, which will last until June 30 July 7, 11:59PM EDT (we'll remind you when voting goes up), you'll be divided into four different sectors of approximately equal sizes. Your sector will be assigned another sector's entries to read/watch/listen to, and you'll be asked to vote for the top 5 in that sector. The 12 entries that receive the most votes in each sector will move on to Phase 2, which everyone will be asked to read and vote on.
So, in summary:

• Now through June 30 July 7 - read the entries assigned to your sector and vote on them (once the voting form goes up).


• July 1 through July 8 July 8 through July 14 - read the top 48 entries (12 of which you should have already read) and vote on them (once the voting form goes up).

Unlocking Entries

We've discovered that we're unable to change the security level on entries ourselves, so unfortunately we're going to have to ask you to unlock your own entries! We'll try to come up with a better system for next round, but for now: if your entry was accepted to the comm but is locked, please unlock it as soon as you can!

Team Standings

Thanks so much for your patience while we sorted through the thousands of comments to get your point totals. We're still working on the points from Bonus Round 1, but here are the totals from the Pregaming Promotional and Bonus Round 0 only:

There are 121 total teams, with scores ranging from 0-155.
The mean (average) score is 65.79, and the median is 65. The mode (most often occurring) is 75, which 10 teams have. The quartiles are 40, 65, and 90. The standard deviation is 35.24.

Hey there! :) I have a quick question about the team standings! Specifically about the point total for Team Jade♥Rose? :o This is probably a little silly for me to even be bringing up, but I noticed that your tally for Jade♥Rose's pregaming + BR0 points is slightly different than mine? So I was wondering if I could... ask where the discrepancies are, haha, so that we can find out which entries were and weren't counted and then be able to avoid doing whatever it was that made them not count in the future? Hehe, sorry about this. ^^; Here's my count!

For the pre-gaming round, I counted 7 entries from members of Team Jade♥Rose: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Since it was 5 points per link, then I figure that that should be 7 x 5 = 35 points for the pregaming promotional...

As for Bonus Round 0, I counted 11 entries from members of Team Jade♥Rose: 1 2* 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 (*Warning for strobes at link #2!)
The scoring for that round was 10 scored entries maximum, 10 points each for the first five and 5 points each for the second five, so by my count that's (5 x 10) + (5 x 5) = 50 + 25 = 75?

And then overall, the points for the pregaming promotional + Bonus Round 0 would be: 35 + 75 = 110 points total?

The main thing that occurred to me that might have gotten some of these entries disqualified was that the last 7 bonus round entries (including one unscored one) were made by editing someone else's artwork (though that artwork was used with permission! c: ), but the thing that's tripping me up is that, if those six entries were disqualified, then that would make the total 35 + 40 = 75 points, not 85 points as is stated in the official records? :?

Sorry for being so pedantic about this, hahaha, but I'm really curious as to which entries were counted and which weren't, just so that I and my teammates can avoid posting unscorable content in the future! ^^; Thanks so much for your time, and sorry again for being a bother! You HSO mods do so much fantastic work for us, and we really, really appreciate it. <3

You are not being pedantic at all, you are 100% correct! Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention; I just realized that one of the columns on the final spreadsheet (these numbers are the product of four separate spreadsheets with 2-4 sub-sheets each) was mis-aligned, meaning all the numbers are a lie. D:
Your tally is correct, and your team's total points from the pregaming and br0 should be 110.
