Genre-Mixing

Hey, shippers! Welcome to your very first bonus round proper--we hope you have lots of fun with it! This time around we're going to be asking you to mix it up a little--each fanwork posted for this round will be a mish-mash of two different genres, blended together in a delightful incestuous slurry to create an UNSTOPPABLE CREATIVE CONCOCTION--er. Or. Something.

Yeah, we're genre-mixing. That's what we're doing this round.

Rules

1. Submit prompts! Prompts should consist of two different genres and one ship. This cannot be your team's ship! These are worth 5 points each, for a maximum of 100 points per team.


2. Look through the prompts and fill whichever you like!


3. You may not fill prompts for your ship, nor may you fill your own team's prompts.


4. Fills should be posted as replies to the prompts which they are for, following the format below. They may be any medium.

If you are starting a new thread, please use this format in your title.

For prompt posts: 5 points each (maximum of 100 per team)

For fills (as stated here):

Entries 6-10 in each post: 20 (per entry)
Entries 11-15 in each post: 10 (per entry)
Entries 16+ in each post: 5 (per entry)

All scored content must be created/assembled new for this round.

Grimdark Rose and dead Fef and Jade being so ruthlessly pragmatic about the situation and teleporting people outside the space-time continuum because nobody messes with her wow this is great. <3

Gamzee doesn’t look quite right clean. Hair combed to be on sociable terms with gravity, deep cuts treated and glistening with makeshift antiseptic, joints and lithe muscles under skin stretched too thin with no fat protection. He looks awkward and out of place and it stings to know that broken and filthy is his normal.

He had asked you to do his paint today; to feel your plump fingers caress his face, probably. You look at the set of paint pots, white and grey mixed and smeared and worn nearly to empty. The rest of the palette is completely new, although there is a suspiciously large fingerprint in the indigo.

He’s looking at you expectantly and a little embarrassedly and you instinctively move to shoosh him without realizing you had accidentally gotten pink on your index finger. There’s a smear of magenta that looks a little like a smile. And that’s what gets you started.

Cerulean mixed with lime for cheekbones and crimson mixed with aubergine for fuller lips. Hair spirals done in violet and fuchsia and gentle yellow and brown for curliqued horns. You paint his face on his stomach with your reference right at hand. You’re left with the eyes missing and glance back to the pot of purple. It’s almost like comparing hands when you press your finger over his fingerprint.

You dab on the indigo and look up to diamonds in his eyes.

What had happened Friday night wasn't his fault at all-- all hers. All the fault of that wickedly beautiful girl in the little black dress who came up to him, stood as close to him as possible, and informed the one-eyed spidery girl following her that she already had a date for the night, thank you very much.

He'd been tempted to tell her he knew of no such thing, but Eridan had never been able to pass up a chance to one-up his spiderbitchy friend. Sort-of friend. Hatefriend, he guesses. Since their relationship was entirely based around mutual hatred and wanting each other to die and all. So he waited until Vriska was gone to turn to the girl at his side and raise an ever so slightly drunken eyebrow. "That's new-wuhs to me," he informed her, his state of near intoxication bringing out the accent he sometimes tried and failed to hide. "Isn't it polite t'inform the guy you're datin' a the fact that you're datin' him in th'first place?"

She simply rolled her eyes. He was struck by their colour (and their coldness), a sort of icy amethyst he'd not seen before. A nice contrast to his own hollowly burning violet. "Are you really going to protest a beautiful girl claiming you for the night?"

He'd grinned, well-used to this sort of banter. "Nah. I am, howuh-wewer, protestin' you an' your clumsy attempts t'claim a prince like me." A quick smile, letting her down easy. "Don't wuh-worry, I'm a gentleman. I ain't gonna tell."

She practically swooned. "My hero!"

Things might have gotten just the teensiest bit out of hand after that. It was a definite possibility that the new set of scars he has came from her and a pair of strange needles. But as he'd said-- it had all been her fault.

Ugh. Vriska was rubbing off on him in more ways than one. He thinks he'd liked it better when he could believe more than an eighth of the shit that passed through his mind.
