Tales from the Road
Hey, shippers! HSO is winding down, so we thought we'd take a look back at the journey, so to speak. With that in mind, this next bonus round is going to be roadtrip-themed! Give us a little taste of your characters' life on the road, whatever form that takes.
Rules
- Submit prompts! Prompts should consist of one ship (friendship/gen is fine too!) and a location. This cannot be your team's ship! This round we will not be giving points for prompts.
- Look through the prompts and fill whichever you like!
- You may not fill prompts for your ship, nor may you fill your own team's prompts.
- Fills should be posted as replies to the prompts which they are for, following the format below. They may be any medium.

FILL: TEAM Karkat♥Sollux
Feferi had never been one to doubt people when they said that they could do something, but when she looked at Gamzee and he insisted that he could help her in her bakery she had her doubts. Her bakery, something she had insisted to her parents she could run, wasn’t doing good. She could make everything cute, but nothing tasted any good.
She cast an unsure look at Karkat who was glaring at the cupcake she had him try while Gamzee busied himself in the kitchen. “I’m unsure of this situation.”
He looks up at her blinking large red-brown eyes. “What do you mean?”
She worries at her lip. “I trust your opinion over all other’s Karkat, will you tell me what to do? I know he bakes a lot, but is he actually good at it?”
“Why don’t you taste for yourself?” He gestures Gamzee.
Feferi turns and looks at him and where she thought he was making a mess, he had been cleaning up hers and making a fresh batch of cupcakes. “But Karkat, will he be able to help me?”
“I could help you and I burnt water the other day.” He dumps the mess in the trash. “Just let him do his thing.”
“Oh well, okay.” She lets out a sigh and moves to the door turning the open sign to closed before taking a seat at the table with Karkat. She’d probably already be out of business if she hadn’t had so much money to start with. “I suppose I have nothing left to lose anyway.” She pillows her head in her arms and she drifts off while she waits.
“Hey, sis.” Feferi blinks awake. “I didn’t want to wake you or anything, but I figured you’d want to try it’s while it’s still warm.”
It wasn’t anything fancy as far as she could tell. It looking like a plain cupcake with caramel drizzled over the top. She glanced at Karkat who was devouring what seemed to be his fourth one. She reached up and took it from his hand and pulled the wrapper off.
She to bit into it and was sent to heaven. He had filled it with caramel too and it was simply to die for. She shoved the rest in her mouth and reached for another one. Gamzee’s smile widens. “Glad to see you two get your grub on. Any motherfucking requests?”
“Strawberry!” Feferi says and Karkat nods viciously behind her.
“Okay, sis, I’ll get right on that.”
Feferi hires him as soon as the Strawberry cupcake her mouth.

It takes a couple of weeks but soon business is booming. Gamzee makes the cupcakes, the pies, the cookies, any pastry Feferi’s thrown at him, and then she makes them pretty. She doesn’t know where she’d be without him. Well she can guess she’d be right back in college.
“Hey sis, do want me to teach you how to bake these?” He holds up a pan filled with his caramel cupcakes. “You know I’ll be on vacation next week and Tav, Sollux, Karkat and I rented that cabin on the beach so I won’t be here.”
Disappointment blossoms in her chest but she smiles anyway. “Yeah, can you show me after we close up?”
His grin spreads, “Of course.” Then the two of them are back to work. The hours pass quickly and soon the two of the are left alone in the building. He’s cleaning up the floor and she’s loading the dishwasher one last time.
Feferi watch him while he works, he’s such a hard worker that it threw her off at first. She hadn’t thought he of all people would be such a hard worker, but the more she thought about it, the more it seemed to fit, the more she thought about him, the more her heart fluttered in her chest. “I’m about done.” His lazy voice snaps her out of her trance. He puts the last chair back on the ground. “I’m gonna take out the trash real motherfucking quick.”
“Okay, I’ll just be here.” She smiles at him, but when the door closes behind him she slumps against the counter. A week without Gamzee here to help her; Feferi knew she could do a well enough job by now to keep the business from running into the ground in a week’s time, but the thought of him not being here hurt. She should be happy for him though, he deserved to have some fun with his friends.
Though Feferi couldn’t deny she wasn’t a little jealous. They all got to spend time with Gamzee, but she’d be stuck here working, alone. Plus she was pretty sure that he and Tavros were an unofficial thing. That made her stomach turn.
“Hey sis, are you sure you’re feeling up too this? You look a little ill.”
“Oh!” She jumped and turned smiling up at Gamzee, “I’m perfectly fine! Just a little tired.”
“Are you all up and motherfucking sure? We don’t need you getting sick.” He looks a little worried and her heart does a little flutter.
“Yes I’m sure.”
He reaches out and places the back of his hand against her forehead. “You’re running a motherfucking fever. We need to get you home and into bed before you get any worse.”
She color’s lightly. “Gamzee, I swear, I’m fine.”
“We’re not having any of that. You’re going home and to motherfucking bed so you can be taken care of.”
“I moved out of my parents house…” You look away from him.
“Well shit, I guess a motherfucker will just have to make sure you don’t get sick on his own.”
“It’s quite alright Gamzee.”
“I insist.” He bows and she flushes darker, her head starts spinning.
“Maybe you’re right.” She had felt a little queasy earlier. “But you don’t have to come over and help me.”
“It’s the least I can do after you gave me a chance when nobody else would.” She blinks confused at him. “Everybody else was too afraid to take a chance on me, but you did even know all my problems .”
“It was Karkat’s idea, but your baking was what landed you the job.”
He smiles so sweetly at her heart almost breaks. “He’s always looking out for me, but come on lets get you to bed.”
