Tales from the Road

Hey, shippers! HSO is winding down, so we thought we'd take a look back at the journey, so to speak. With that in mind, this next bonus round is going to be roadtrip-themed! Give us a little taste of your characters' life on the road, whatever form that takes.

Rules

Submit prompts! Prompts should consist of one ship (friendship/gen is fine too!) and a location. This cannot be your team's ship! This round we will not be giving points for prompts.

Look through the prompts and fill whichever you like!

You may not fill prompts for your ship, nor may you fill your own team's prompts.

Fills should be posted as replies to the prompts which they are for, following the format below. They may be any medium.

Scoring
For fills (as stated here):
First 5 entries in each post: 30 (per entry)
Entries 6-10 in each post: 20 (per entry)
Entries 11-15 in each post: 10 (per entry)
Entries 16+ in each post: 5 (per entry)

All scored content must be created/assembled new for this round.

Dry leaves crunch beneath your feet, and birds sing high and sweet. Jade is well ahead of you, and you can hear her shouts as she swings on the rope across the river (and you wish she would stop using it like that because it looks so old and frayed).

"Whoa!" She barely catches herself when she lands on the other side of the bank, and the rope swings back to you. "Come on, Rose!"

You take hold of it and eye it warily, trying to gauge if it could still carry a human being over a span of twenty feet. The truth: you just don't know.

"Rose, come on." Jade crosses her arms. "I'm not going to let you fall or anything. I promise nothing will happen except your safe and really fun journey!"

You hadn't considered that factor at all. And it's true, Jade Harley was some kind of extraordinary. (And really, if you couldn't trust her, then who could you trust?)

The jump is, admittedly, not as bad as you thought it would be. (Even kind of fun.) You fall into Jade's arms, and tumble on the ground. "OK, perhaps allowances in safety can be made for that particular rope swing."

She giggles and brushes the dirt from your sweater. "See, I told you! Perfectly. Safe." She emphasizes with a kiss to your cheek. "Now come on, let's go!"

Hand in hand, you traipse down something that resembles a path, even if you have no set destination. "What do you expect to find back here?"

Jade shrugs, but hardly seems discouraged. "Something!"

"Something." You raise an eyebrow and smile.

Jade leans in and bumps her forehead to yours and you can smell the strawberries on her breath when she whispers, "Something." (She giggles when you press your lips to hers.) "But we will hardly discover that something at our current rate!" She squeezes your hand and pulls you forward.

She says there's probably a great big pocket of country hiding in these trees. Not just any great big pocket of country, mind you, because anything that can hide in these woods has to be a little bit magical. "Look," she murmurs, "you can see where the giants sleep up in the alpines. Bet they're actually pretty gentle cuz see those patches of fairy dust?"

(You didn't before, but you will see them for her.) "I see, the fairies and the giants have some kind of alliance. Or so the theory goes. But..."

She rolls her eyes at you and she knows that you're about to needlessly complicate things. But if she minds, she doesn't say anything.

"But how can we be sure that the giants haven't kidnapped the fairies? They would certainly have brute force in their favor."

Jade clicks her tongue against her cheek. "How can we be sure the fairies haven't kidnapped the giants? They ARE kinda magical, Rose! And there are tons of fairies."

"A valid point. Alternatively," and here you squeeze her hand a little tighter, "perhaps they have kidnapped each other."

She bumps into you. "Yeah, maybe."
