I signed up just now for Karkat <3< Karkat (even though it isn't on the list), Dave <3 Sollux, and Dave <3 Dave in that order.

I didn't see Karkat <3< Karkat and I'm surprised, since Karkat <3 Karkat was there. Anyone else interested in KK <3< KK? I think it has so much humorous potential.

Regardless of what I end up with, I plan on focusing on the visual fanart, and may even make an animation of some sort if I get really ambitious. I can write, but I always get too verbose. :/

By the way, forgot to mention: I also signed up for Palhoncho of KK <3< KK!

If I get that position and you want it, I'll relinquish without question. I only figured that someone might as well sign up before there is last-minute lack-leadership stress [nobody wants it]. That situation typically follows me like a shadow when it comes to teamwork.

Damn you. I've been successfully telling myself for the past few days that I didn't have time to do this, that I hadn't been in the fandom anywhere near long enough or thoroughly enough, that I had WIPs to work on, that I'd sit it out this year and see how it went, and then Karkat<3<Karkat showed up on the team list and I thought, maybe I do have time to write some funny Karkat<3<Karkat after all! And then I signed up for it. I was worried about verbosity too, since apparently we're limited to 3k words, but when our venue with this pairing is probably limited to memos and dream bubbles, it might be less of a problem.

Oddly enough, there were paragraph breaks in there. I must have confused it with trying to use pairing symbols and HTML in the same post.

Hah, it happens. Sometimes I still feel like it's difficult to deal with HTML, at least when switching to and from so often.

Anyway, I'm in the same boat as you... actually, I've been putting off finishing a Shimeji [desktop buddy thing] for someone for a while, but I couldn't resist. I also haven't been a fan for that long. To be 100% honest, I only started reading the comic on 4/13 this year, and I'm almost completely up to date on the story. The hype I witnessed on a "discovering Homestuck" blog was too much and I had to actually start it. I was immediately enthralled by its well-tailored story in a spastically intriguing multimedia digital format. This one is sticking to me hard, but it's still embarrassing to be so new. :D

Yeah, the physical limits of Karkat <3< Karkat would definitely help keep the word limit, now that you mention it. Maybe I should write a mock memo at some point. I think that has potential, since it's said that there were a lot of them we didn't get to see!

Heh, I never really got involved in fandom beyond lurking around fandom_wank for the lulz until I read Homestuck. Then I somehow wound up haunting the kink meme and then writing a fanfic, and now I can't stop? Addiction is powerful thing.

I guess if there actually gets to be a confirmed team, we can be awkward newbies together. The memos are lots of fun, although writing pesterlog stuff is a completely different kind of thing from the prose (or at least I found it to be, at first). And there's also the memos with current/future Karkat on the asteroid in act 6 to work with too, and I've always thought the idea of transuniversal memos with Karkats from doomed timelines and such also had a lot of potential.

I get obsessed sometimes, but I really haven't taken part in fandomry constantly. Some people float between fandoms so quickly and say whatever their last one was is stupid, but I don't get that way. I haven't been part of many fandoms, and I've never disliked them... but sometimes the fans are crazy and make me want to cry. I hadn't read fanfiction in years before more recently. Fandom is so addictive, it's like methamphetamine or something.

I bet this'll end up a confirmed team! There are a few people interested, I guess, and we've got until June to fill the team, right? Anyway, oh God, now you've got me thinking of doomed Karkats. All of the Karkats in one Dream Bubble. All of them.

Maybe that's what he's really afraid of when he falls asleep: seeing all of his dead selves and them all ganging up on him.

ah yes! i've only come across one other person than me signed up for karkat <3< karkat before seeing this thread, only another two to go now and our beautiful hilarious ship can finally sail

Oh cool. :) Hopefully we'll get another couple people in all the inevitable team-switching, or when they reopen signups. Or we can recruit whoever signed up for Karkat <3 Karkat? Spades makes so much more sense anyway, pfft.

Haha, that's cool! I'm sure you'll make it into something on the list. Dave <3 Dave needs more love, I mean, it's just so obvious, isn't it? A little narcissistic, gets along with himself, unfazed by bizarre situations, and with an attitude like he'd be willing to try just about anything; I'm surprised I don't see/read more things with Dave <3 Dave.

I think KK <3< KK is a good match for me though, since humor seems to be my strong suit... not that KK <3< KK can't be serious. He really is his own worst enemy. I bet this'll be a lot of fun!

I certainly hope so~ But yes, Dave <3 Dave does need more love. It's a wonderful ship. I ran into a Dave/John/Dave fic that I really really liked since it started out with the two Daves making out with each other. ;3 Dave really is just too sexy for anyone but himself. Hehe~

Yeah, you could definitely do humor with that... But also some interesting angst and character development too. I really hope yours ends up as a viable team! It's totally worth it!

I wonder if that's the same Dave/John/Dave that I read on Tumblr where they were all dead in a dream bubble. John was watching them like it was an imminent train wreck until they noticed him. "Two Daves, No Waiting," it's called. I love that one. I always wonder why that setup isn't more of a thing. Anyway, what would one expect two (or more??) of the same Dave to do when he's alone and obligated to just wait around for the sake of continuing a stable time loop?

Yes, I want to make laughs with KK <3< KK, but I can do something with a bit more desperation-- despite the situation's obvious humorous overtones that come from the simple fact that he cannot tolerate himself. He really does cause most of his own problems. I think he can be a pretty satirical pair in the most catastrophic ways.
