BONUS ROUND 1
Bonus Round 1
Genre-Mixing
Hey, shippers! Welcome to your very first bonus round proper--we hope you have lots of fun with it! This time around we're going to be asking you to mix it up a little--each fanwork posted for this round will be a mish-mash of two different genres, blended together in a delightful incestuous slurry to create an UNSTOPPABLE CREATIVE CONCOCTION--er. Or. Something.
Yeah, we're genre-mixing. That's what we're doing this round.
Rules
- Submit prompts! Prompts should consist of two different genres and one ship. This cannot be your team's ship! These are worth 5 points each, for a maximum of 100 points per team.
- Look through the prompts and fill whichever you like!
- You may not fill prompts for your ship, nor may you fill your own team's prompts.
- Fills should be posted as replies to the prompts which they are for, following the format below. They may be any medium.
Title Format
If you are starting a new thread, please use this format in your title.
Replace [YOUR SHIP] with the name of the team YOU belong to; please use the characters and quadrant, not whatever portmanteau or nickname you've come up with.
If your team name is not in this format and in the title we cannot guarantee that it will be counted.
If you are filling a prompt, use this format in your title.

FILL: TEAM ENGLISH
(aged down human!stuck with stabdads hope u enjoy thank)
"And then, he heard this breathy voice -- ooooOOOOOOOOooooh -- and the air around him immediately turned cold. He started to walk briskly, to avoid what he knew would be instant death because he was alone..."
"TZ."
"...when suddenly he felt something sharp touch his back!"
"Stop."
"He ran as fast as he could and punched the down button on the elevator really hard!"
"TZ I--"
"He looked back and saw the headless girl gliding towards him fast. The elevator doors opened and he fell inside with his eyes shut in terror before the girl could wrap her rotten claws around his neck."
"Please stop I really don't like this..."
"But..." Terezi paused dramatically, with her eyes shifting around in mock fear, as if the headless girl was around to hear. She drew closer to Sollux, who instinctively shrunk away a little.
"...when he opened his eyes, the girl was also inside the elevator..."
"TZ PLEASE!"
"and she RIPPED HIS HEAD APART WITH HER SHARP CLAWS WHILE HE SCREECHED IN FUTILITY AND PAIN AHAHAHAHAHA!!!" Terezi exploded at her wild-eyed friend. Sollux immediately scampered away, bumping his head on the edge of the high-table they convert into their clubhouse every Bring-Your-Kid-to-Work Day.
"Hey!" Terezi said as she crawled out from under the table as well, but her friend had disappeared into the office lunch crowd.
"What's wrong, child?" Ms. Snowman asked her unusually untalkative daughter. "You haven't touched your tomatoes at all. I thought they were your favorite?"
"Terezi's bummed out because she scared her boooyfriend away this morning~" Vriska sing-songed with a half-full mouth. Terezi kicked her sister under the table.
"Shut up, Vriska!"
"You mean Deuce's wimp of a son? Come on Terezi, you know you deserve better," Ms. Snowman chimed in before taking a calm sip of coffee.
"He's not my boyfriend!" Terezi huffed defensively, before her face mellowed down a little. "But Vriska's right, I think I DID say something horribly wrong."
The sprightly 8-year-old leaped from her chair. "I'm gonna find him and make peace!" she said before sprinting back into the workplace.
Sollux was nowhere to be found. She has tried all their favorite hiding places, and even approached Mr. Deuce himself.
"I thought he was with you? Maybe he's with Aradia, them two get along mighty fine as well."
So Terezi sauntered off into Mr. Droog's cubicle, in the farthest, darkest corner of the office. Now Terezi has always been scared of stern-looking Mr. Droog (the whole office kind of was except maybe her cool mom), and his mysterious daughter Aradia also spooked her a bit, so she was surprised to learn that she and Sollux were also friends. Still she braved the barely lit corner of the workplace... to find Sollux sitting right outside the cubicle, running a ballpoint pen across a piece of paper furiously, many times. Around him lay inked and torn scraps of paper he couldn't write on anymore.
"Sollux..."
"DON'T TALK TO ME!"
"CALM DOWN, SHEESH. IT WAS JUST A STORY!"
"NO IT WAS NOT!!"
A cutting SHHHH emanated from Mr. Droog's cubicle and everybody stood silent. After three seconds, Terezi let out a sigh.
"Come on," Terezi half-whispered, half-whined. "You know that wasn't a real story, right? Just some fake thing Vriska came up with?"
"Sollux can see things," a cool voice behind Terezi piped up, making her jump. It was Aradia (how did she get there?), seemingly emerging from the shadows. "We both can. But Sollux isn't very used to it yet, so your story made him jumpy because he knew it could possibly be real, even if it was just made up" the 10-year-old explained. Terezi raised her eyebrow in disbelief
"AA, nobody'd believe you. I'll just be discovered alone in an elevator with my head ripped apart just you wait," Sollux said solemnly. He then flung the ballpen away, hugged his knees, and hid his face.
"Hey, HEY, don't talk like that!" Terezi sat down beside her friend and gently patted his back. "Remember, the headless girl won't attack if you're not alone!" Terezi smiled a bit when she felt her friend straighten up a bit.
"You sure?"
"Yup! And I can prove it!"
Mr. Deuce was easy to wrestle a permission out of, and it took Ms. Snowman a bit of persuasion, but they were both able to convince their parents to let them climb up to the 13th floor (Mr. Droog laid an adamant no-go on Aradia, of course), the supposed residence of the head-ripping ghost. Sollux held tight to Terezi's hand the entire time. When the elevator doors slid open, Sollux stepped back.
"I don't think we should be here. can we go back now please please please," Sollux whispered as though the walls were made of ears. Terezi stepped into the unfinished halls, her footstep resounding in the dark.
"I told you there were no ghosts here!" Terezi cheered. "I won't drag you into something that dangerous, silly!"
They took a few steps around until the Sollux's tense grip on Terezi's hand loosened a bit.
"Hey TZ, sorry for yelling at you earlier," Sollux said as they reached the end of the hall and turned to walk back. "I mean I KNEW the story was fake because ghosts can't really do that, but I still acted like such a butt."
"Nah, it was nothing. Sorry for forcing you to listen to my story even after you told me to stop."
"Man, that story wasn't even that scary! It was so lame and corny! Your sis needs to come up with more creative stuff."
"Haha! Oh man, I think I cured your fear of ghosts!"
"What fear?"
They laughed all the way back to the elevator. Never once did they let each other's hands go.
