Bonus Round 1
Genre-Mixing
Hey, shippers! Welcome to your very first bonus round proper--we hope you have lots of fun with it! This time around we're going to be asking you to mix it up a little--each fanwork posted for this round will be a mish-mash of two different genres, blended together in a delightful incestuous slurry to create an UNSTOPPABLE CREATIVE CONCOCTION--er. Or. Something.
Yeah, we're genre-mixing. That's what we're doing this round.
Rules
- Submit prompts! Prompts should consist of two different genres and one ship. This cannot be your team's ship! These are worth 5 points each, for a maximum of 100 points per team.
- Look through the prompts and fill whichever you like!
- You may not fill prompts for your ship, nor may you fill your own team's prompts.
- Fills should be posted as replies to the prompts which they are for, following the format below. They may be any medium.

Bedrooms were not supposed to fly, but, in spite of everything, Jade was traveling through the air in her bedroom. She should have been terrified. Instead, Jade threw an arm around Bec and waited for her bedroom to land.
When it did, Jade ran to the door and flung it open.
“Bec, we’re not on our island anymore. Isn’t this exciting?” Bec merely ambled out of the house. Jade followed, stunned by the beautiful greenery that surrounded her. To her left was a tall tower with flowing drapes of fabric sticking out to the sides. It looked similar to her own home, except more colorful somehow.
“Excuse me,” said a voice to her left.
Jade turned and sucked in her breath. Before her stood the most beautiful.. erm.
“What are you?” asked Jade.
“It is quite impolite to just ask strangers what they are,” replied the stranger, species unknown.
“Oh, sorry. I like you horns!” Jade said, trying to get her foot out of her mouth. “They’re very… pointy!”
The creature in front of her raised a grey hand to her horns and flushed a soft green. “Thank you. I am rather fond of your glasses. Their round shape is very pleasing on the eyes.”
“Thank you!” said Jade, grinning widely. She walked forward and stuck out her hand. “My name’s Jade and that’s my dog, Bec! Do you have dogs here?” The creature eyed her hand, perplexed.
“We have barkbeasts,” replied the creature.
“Is that the same?” Jade lowered her hand.
“I don’t know, I’ve never seen one myself.”
Jade shrugged, “That’s all right then. Dogs can be a lot of trouble.”
The creature in front of her blinked. Jade shuffled her foot on the grass.
“So… where am I?”
The creature looked uncomfortable and replied, “You are on Alternia. But, most specifically you are in my lawnring. You also landed your ship on my flowers.”
“Gosh,” said Jade looking mortified, “I’m sorry! That was rude! Can I do anything to fix it?”
The creature laughed a little and said, “That’s all right, as long as it was an accident. I like gardening, though the other trolls don’t understand why. My name’s Kanaya.”
“It’s nice to meet you Kanaya! I always thought trolls were supposed to be ugly, and you’re lovely!”
“Hmm,” said Kanaya. “That is almost a backhanded compliment but thank you anyway.
“Sooo…” Jade looked around some more. “How far is Alternia from Earth?”
“What’s Earth?” asked Kanaya.
“That’s where I’m from! I need to get home!” said Jade.
Now Kanaya looked embarrassed, “I’m sorry. I’ve never heard of such a place. But, maybe the heiress has?”
“Oh, who’s that?”
“She is the next in line for our throne. Our heiress is commonly called the Luminous Heiress of Alternia, but, I’ve heard that you can call her Heiress Feferi to her face. A friend of mine even gets away with calling her Fef.”
“And she can get me home?” asked Jade.
Kanaya shrugged, “I can’t make promises, but she is a witch.”
“A witch!” Jade’s eyes widened. “Is she scary and hideous.”
Kanaya frowned again. “No. She is lovely. And if you keep calling people hideous you won’t get any help.”
Jade laughed. “You’re right. I’m sorry. How do I find her?”
“She lives in the Glass City under the sea. You have to follow the Squiddle brick road. It was one of her more,” Kanaya paused briefly, “garish additions to Alternia. But it functions nonetheless.”
“Cool! Let’s go Bec!” The white dog appeared next to Jade and they began to walk away from Jade’s house.
“Wait,” called Kanaya, joining them. “I’ll come with you.”
“You will?”
Kanaya smiled. “A pretty girl like you needs a guide.”

I thought it would be cuter if Jade had an awkward meeting with Kanaya involving rude comments and crushing plants than killing someone. If there was time and room Vriska would be the Wicked Witch with Tavros as her flying monkey. They would encounter Eridan, who needed kindness, Karkat, who needed self-esteem, and Equius, who needed a towel. I hope this was what you were looking for!
